Vinyl banners for both business and individual use

Filed under: Design — Shannon @ 3:33 pm

Vinyl banner printing is used to convey the message to people effectively. It is used for both business and individual purposes. You can use them as standard posters, wall or truck wraps and even banners as the material is flexible.

You can use your own graphic designs as it allows you to print your own customised posters. Vinyl posters are used for birthday celebrations and many other parties. Depending on your budget you can print the posters in any size that you want.

Vinyl banners are used to create a huge impact on the audience. The message on vinyl banners can be seen from a distance as they are best placed overhead. Vinyl banners can withstand most weather conditions due to their durable material. Hence, they can be placed outdoor.

For easier handling you can have these vinyl banners printed with an adhesive back. This will allow you to attach the vinyl to any desired surface by simply peeling off the paper back. However, make sure that you attach it on a clean dry surface. To avoid bubbles press the sticker on to the flat surface using a flat edged item.

Vinyl banners convey the message to the audience effectively and efficiently. However, the text used in the banner should create a huge impact on the audience and should be easy to recollect. If you have not used digital poster printing for your product promotions yet, give it a try.

Things to watch for during artwork printing

Filed under: Design — Shannon @ 8:08 am

While preparing the artwork for printing, there are certain parameters that you should keep in mind in order to get exactly the same print that you expect, or else your print might not turn out the way you want it to. Shoddy artwork can spoil even the best of print designs. Keep in mind the things below that need to be taken care of during the artwork phase.

•    Trim Marks
These marks should always be present on the artwork as trim marks indicate the final size of the printed piece. The area outside these trim marks is a buffer area, which need not be included in the final print.

•    Clarity on Fonts
When you have used a variety of fonts, it is always better to supply the printer with a CD of all the fonts that you have used, as the printers machine might not have those particular fonts embedded in it.

•    Bleed
Bleed is the margin for error that is provided to the printer while printing. The bleed area makes sure that the main image or colour does not get trimmed while printing. The minimum thickness of a bleed area needs to be of 3mm from all 4 sides.

Important design and layout tips

Filed under: Design — Paul @ 2:04 pm

Mass communication through printing can be achieved through various means, such as billboards, posters and banners. All these forms have a few things in common, for instance, design and layout are two very important aspects for all of them. Following are some design and layout tips applicable to all promotional printing material:

•    Distance
First and foremost, one should estimate the distance between your printed piece and the audience. The size, fonts and other parameters can be decided only after you have estimated the distance correctly, because distance directly affects visibility. Hence working out the distance is very important while designing an artwork.

•    Clarity
Your message should be clear and it should also be the most clearly visible element of your design. Make sure that your message is not cluttered between various elements such as pictures, promotional text, etc. Make sure that your message is the most visible thing in your design.

•    Keep it Simple
Keep your design simple and do not put in too many elements. Too many elements lead to distortion, which dilutes the effect of the message.

•    Fonts
Ideally one should use fonts, which leave enough gaps between the letter. Fonts like Times New Roman and Arial are perfect for printing.

Designing a logo for your company

Filed under: Design — Stephen @ 8:12 am

A good graphic work or a good design is remembered for a long time. All the multinational companies invest a lot of money in developing their logo and other such branding material. While designing a logo, it is very important to provide your designer all the necessary details of your brand. Moreover, the logo should be developed in such a way that it can portray the right image of your company. A logo design is just like a compressed story of any business firm. The customers can get to know about the personality and nature of the business by simply looking at the logo design.

While you develop a logo for your firm, make sure that you check the logos of other firms in your industry. This will help you to get an idea on developing the right logo for your company. Make sure that your logo does not become a modified version or a replica of any other company. The logo design needs to be different and should strike a difference in order to promote your company. This would help you to get a trademark protection as well.

Logos should be quite simple and easy to remember. The typeface should be chosen carefully so that it stands out in the minds of the viewers.  Vector graphics should be used to enhance the image quality. Colours should be chosen carefully to ensure that the logo looks good, both on the web and in print.
